Wild Goose Community Gardens is comprised of a six raised beds which are available for rent and three demonstration raised beds where we hold weekly classes throughout the growing season.
PSPF Volunteer Code of Conduct
Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer! All volunteers are required to read and indicate they accept and abide by its policies and procedures in the volunteer application. Failure to follow the rules outlined in this document are grounds for immediate termination or suspension from any and all activities.
PSPF Volunteer Code of Conduct
1. Respect for Others:
Treat all fellow volunteers, garden visitors, and staff with courtesy, kindness, and respect.
Listen actively and communicate openly, valuing diverse perspectives and ideas.
2. Safety First:
Prioritize safety at all times, following established guidelines for tool usage, lifting, and handling of materials.
Report any hazards or unsafe conditions to the designated supervisor immediately.
3. Commitment to Sustainability:
Work towards sustainable practices, including water conservation, composting, and organic gardening methods.
Respect the environment and wildlife within the garden, avoiding harm to plants, animals, and ecosystems.
4. Collaboration and Cooperation:
Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff, sharing tasks and resources for the benefit of the community.Resolve conflicts constructively, seeking mediation or assistance from designated leaders when needed.
5. Responsibility and Accountability:
Fulfill volunteer commitments punctually and responsibly, communicating in advance if unable to attend scheduled sessions.
Take ownership of assigned tasks, completing them to the best of one's ability and seeking guidance when necessary.
6. Confidentiality and Privacy:
Respect the confidentiality of personal information shared by fellow volunteers, garden members, or staff.
Refrain from sharing sensitive information or images without consent.
7. Preservation of Garden Resources:
Use garden tools, equipment, and resources responsibly, returning them to their designated places after use.
8. Continuous Learning and Improvement:
Remain open to learning new skills and techniques, seeking opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Provide constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement to enhance the garden's operations and impact.
9. Adherence to Policies and Guidelines:
Familiarize oneself with the garden's policies, rules, and guidelines, adhering to them consistently. Seek clarification from designated leaders if unsure about any aspect of the code of conduct or related policies. Follow all reasonable and lawful written and verbal instructions given by appointed representatives of Puget Sound Public Farms (PSPF) while providing volunteer services.
By volunteering at the community garden, I agree to uphold the principles outlined in this code of conduct and contribute positively to the growth and sustainability of our shared garden space.
