2025 year in Review

Statement from the Executive Director

I am honored to have officially joined Puget Sound Public Farms as the Executive Director in September. Stepping into this role has allowed me to increase our capacity to fulfill our mission to empower communities to connect with food and agriculture, and expand our programs impact. Thank you for your continued support; together, we are cultivating a healthier, Stanwood/Camano community.

This was a landmark year for growth, both in the ground and within our organization. Through the tireless efforts of our volunteers and team, we have achieved remarkable milestones that directly benefit our local community and environment. Most notably, we grew and donated over 7,000 pounds of fresh, produce to our partner, the Stanwood Camano Food Bank.

Furthermore, we made significant strides in preserving our local ecosystems by working with the Snohomish Conservation District to plant over 200 native plants, enhancing biodiversity, creating habitat, and improving water quality for our marine Ecosystem. Our commitment to ecological restoration also saw us successfully removing invasive blackberry bushes from four acres of critical wetland habitat and clearing the blackberries surrounding our community orchard, restoring these areas to a healthier, more productive state.

We could not have done this work without the generous support of the Stanwood Camano Community. Together, we volunteered over 1,000 hours across all our programs. and raised over $40,000. Although we are only in our third year of operation, we have accomplished more than I could have ever hoped for. I look forward to leading Puget Sound Public Farms into the far future.

Sincerely,

Andrew Davis, Executive Director, Puget Sound Public Farms
