Ovenell Park Public Farm

The Ovenell Park Public Farm is an in ground vegetable garden, orchard and wetland situated next to the mouth of the Stillaguamish river. The property is a former dairy farm that was purchased by the City of Stanwood in 2014. It contains ten acres of designated wetlands, two large dairy barns, a hald acre in ground vegetable garden, and an orchard. Puget Sound Public Farms leases the property from the City of Stanwood and uses it to teach participants how to grow their own food from seed to harvest.

In 2025 Puget Sound Public Farms Ovenell Park grew and donated over 7000lb of food for the Stanwood Camano Food Bank.

PSPF currently has plans to build a greenhouse, restore the orchard, plant a food forest, and work with the Snohomish Conservation District to restore the wetland.

Wild Goose Community Gardens

Wild Goose community gardens is a collection of 10 rentable raised beds, three demonstration gardens, a strawberry and raspberry patch, and a pollinator garden located at the Stanwood United Methodist Church. The raised beds are available to all for $50.00 annually. Scholarships that cover the cost of the raised bed are available upon request.

Puget Sound Public Farms rents the property from the Church and provides free weekly classes to community members covering everything from starting seeds to harvesting. The produce grown in the demonstration beds is donated to the Stanwood Camano Food Bank for our community members in need.
